“Doug is an exceptional example of our Core Value Ethics & Integrity. Not only ca you trust his work and decision making but his attention to the detail in the Accounting department is invaluable & pushes all of us on the A-Team.”

Doug would like you to know that…

Doug-Cosby
I began working for FortuneBuilders 9/4/12, but “related” to FB before that and watched its growth through Noah and Rachel.

I am from Salem, Illinois (a small town of about 8,000 in Southern Illinois, about an hour and a half drive due east of St. Louis) where it is 90-105 degrees with 80-90% humidity all summer, and 0-30 degrees with wind chills below 0 degrees all winter. So I’m amused to hear complaints about how cold it is here in the winter when it’s in the 50s, and how hot it is when it’s in the 80s!

I married my kindergarten “girlfriend”, and graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale with a degree in Music Education. I was a high school band director and church music director for 8 years. Then built a recording studio and started a sound engineering/contracting company, designing and installing professional sound systems in churches, school gyms, auditoriums, football stadiums, etc. and provided sound and acoustic consultation for architects and electrical engineers for 30 years. Also learned and managed my dad’s abstract of title company and served as music director and worship leader at our church during this time. Oh, yeah. We raised three children several of those years – Sarah, Noah, & Rachel. We have five grandchildren we’re crazy about– three boys in Chicago, and my two girls here in San Diego.

“My dad was a paratrooper in 101st Airborne during WWII, so as a kid I always wanted to skydive. I’ve been twice now, I jumped with Noah and Rachel on their 18th birthdays. All three of us went paragliding at Torrey Pines last summer.

I CRUSH it in everyday life by living by the old adage, “Anything worth doing is worth doing right.” Drives my wife CRAZY!!!

Ethics & Integrity * Inspire * Lead * Educate * Crush it
