I just wanted to take a moment to share with you our first success story since joining the Mastery program in the Fall of 2009. My sister, my mom, and I decided to pursue a dream of investing in real estate full-time over the Summer. With little money and no experience in the industry, we looked to FortuneBuilders to help us get a firm grasp on what was working right now. We got a lead from a bandit sign where the sellers were facing foreclosure. There was just enough equity to make the deal work for us, and little enough equity that the sellers were willing to go into the deal subject to the existing mortgage with no expectation of a return on their end. After scoping out the rehab, we took title to the property, fixed up the house, and stuck a simple For Sale By Owner sign in the yard. We got call after call after call. We had a cash offer 9 days after completing the rehab off of a sign in the yard. No MLS, no title seasoning, no broker fees. Done deal. We know we can make even more as we learn more, and we couldn’t be more excited about 2010 and our experience with FortuneBuilders and the Mastery program.
