This was the 2nd home we bought and was done by conventional bank financing. We lived in the home for 18 years while the kids were in school and when they graduated high school we started looking for a farm with acreage. While living in the home we finished the basement, added a 24x24 addition to the house where Brian built it all with the help of the family. The addition included in the great-room a hot tub, stone gas fireplace, plasma TV, bathroom tied to the master bedroom and a wet bar. The lower unit of the addition had 2 rooms and one was a walk-in to the garage and used as a shop while we lived there. We installed a wood-burning stove in the living room which heated the entire 1500sf on the main level. After replacing the carpet and painting interior in 2012 and replaced the roof, we decided to sell the place as a 5-bedroom, 3-bath.
How did the FortuneBuilders team and resources help you to accomplish this deal?
FortuneBuilders taught us how to leverage our money to purchase investments. We leveraged Brian's retirement, refinanced some rental properties and received a family loan to buy a farm and 43 acres.
