We found this property on the MLS. We were able to negotiate and get the property for $25,000 below our original offer once we presented the seller with the repair estimator for a total of $50,000 below asking! That was exiting! It was a rental for an out of town owner who was tired of it. It had a large basement area that was not finished and we added a bedroom, full bath, laundry room and bonus room in that space. It also had an interesting metal staircase with a lamp post that led to the basement. We removed that and built a staircase and removed a wall in the kitchen to open the space. It was a major renovation but it turned out beautifully!

We had a very detailed scope of work and that gave the contractor confidence in working with us. Being that the project was so large it was intimidating at times but we pushed through! We learned a lot on this deal and now know that we can do more than carpet and paint rehabs!
