This was my first flip after joining Mastery last year. I found this deal on Zillow. I felt it was perfect because it was a small house that just needed a little sprucing up. It was in a pretty sought after neighborhood. It had a lot of historic qualities and good bones. I turned it from a one family to a 2 family because I knew it would be more valuable. The idea was to make it super nice so that someone would want to live in one unit while renting the other to help them pay for their mortgage. We made another kitchen on the first floor and took down the walls for an open concept and added a huge deck from that kitchen. We also added a bath to the half bath in the basement making it into a second apartment. My contractor literally redid the main steps and trims all over the house to match the historic trims.
