Many people saw the property and most likely thought that the home needed major foundation repairs. I put in an offer anyway and I hired a structural engineer to assess the cracks in the foundation. He determined that it was mainly cosmetic. He sent me a detailed report as to how to fix the cracks so that he could provide me a clearance letter. I had my general contractor to complete the repairs as well as fix the cracks (according to the report) and the home turned out well.
