Found the home on MLS and funded the deal using our personal HELOC. Home went under a "full gut rehab", right down to the studs. All new mechanicals, plumbing, electrical, etc. Created an "open floor" plan on the first floor and also added a bath on the first floor. Home originally had just one bath on 2nd floor. Exterior was in good shape. We added landscaping, paver walkways and rehabbed 3 outdoor screen-in porches. To keep the home "unique" we kept the charm of the original 1920 style bungalow colonial by keeping single panel doors, crystal door knobs, shiplap paneling, etc. The original owner came by during our open house and was blown away by the work we had done, but appreciated the touches we kept that reminded her of the home she was brought up in. I should mention that we sold this property on our own, using an MLS "only listing" service.
How did the FortuneBuilders team and resources help you to accomplish this deal?
Deal analyzer for sure. Speaking with a couple of the coaches along the way was certainly helpful. Overall education from the program helped guide us in so many ways during each phase of the project.
