We purchased this home from a local wholesaler. Being one of the original homes on the block from the late 1800s, there were bound to be challenges. We discovered the main support beam was failing and the entire house would need to be jacked up. We brought in an engineer who developed a plan which allowed us to have most of the original wood flooring and interior walls. The kitchen also had major problems as the floor had sunk, probably from years of untreated water damage. This brick beauty got a brand new rood and exterior paint, new kitchen and bath, a fresh coat of paint throughout, and we added a new space on the third floor. Being vacant since 2013, it needed all new plumbing and electric as well.
How did the FortuneBuilders team and resources help you to accomplish this deal?
This is our first rehab to rental project since joining Fortune Builders so we relied heavily on the systems provided for us. Without the knowledge of knowing when to reach out to experts like the engineer, we wouldn't have been able to save this house and pass every inspection with flying colors from the city.
