This home was left to a church in a will. The church could no longer pay the taxes on the property and reached out to a realtor we work with and we struck a deal. We purchased the house in late winter when the roof was covered with snow, so we weren't sure if it needed a roof replacement or not. Of course it did! This was the first opportunity we had to knock down a wall to reconfigure the space for an open concept where the kitchen is in the middle. We refinished all of the original hard wood floors where we could. White washing the fireplace and making our own mantle cover was so much fun!
