This deal was an REO listed on the MLS. After three offers on this property, it was finally accepted in May 2020. The rehab was the most extensive I've completed to date. I replaced the roof, solar water heater, and panels, termite damaged posts and beams, removed an unpermitted addition, installed a new electric panel and meter, rewired and repaired the damage done by the illegal electrical tampering from previous tenants, rebuilt the porch and carport roofs, new bathroom, floors, and lighting, and knocked out a wall to open up the floor plan and create a modern, open feel to the kitchen, dining and living rooms. I followed CT homes lead and chose to certify this project with a one-year Drywood Defend Terminix warranty, a home warranty, and a separate refrigerator warranty to ensure the homeowner was well protected throughout the first year of ownership. This was an awesome experience!
How did the FortuneBuilders team and resources help you to accomplish this deal?
The MLS system and property offer tracking system was instrumental in reminding me to go back repeatedly until my offer was accepted. The training gave me the confidence that I do know what I'm doing and can tackle a job of this magnitude. The community was supportive in encouraging me, providing services recommendations for insurance, and ideas on funding opportunities.
