Where I live, the community is kind of small and cliquey. Networking and word-of-mouth is the way most business is done. Back in May, 5 months after I joined the Mastery program, I spent my entire marketing budget on joining my local BNI group. This was a big decision for me. There currently are no REIA groups here and I knew I wasn't ready to start my own yet. BNI is the only serious business networking show in town, but joining cost over $500, substantially more than I could afford at the time. BNI is a great opportunity for me to work on my elevator pitch since you stand up and give a 30 second commercial on a weekly basis. But, after several months, I was starting to get discouraged because I could tell that most members didn't really get what my business is all about. Typically people in our business are seen as kind of predatory! Yesterday it was my turn to present for 10 minutes about me and my business. This was an opportunity to build my credibility and describe my business in a little more detail. I had already reschedule it the month before because, frankly, I am terrified to speak in fromt of people and I was sure I would mess it up and shoot myself in the foot! So when my turn came up again, I wanted to make sure I built an A+ presentation. First, I developed my Seller Credibility Packet. Thank you FortuneBuilders for providing such an awesome template to work with. As I was building my packet- the presentation seemed to flow naturally right from the content I was putting in the packet. On the day of my presentation, I handed out my seller credibility packet, ( a marketing piece that no one else in the group had even come close to ), used a power point presentation designed straight from the packet and even did a quick written equation on a flip chart using the comparison chart provided in the packet. I even threw in a quick story I saw on a Tuesday morning case study webinar giving them an example of one of my business associates. I gotta tell you, it was like a light bulb went of in the entire room! I had suddenly moved from the "Predator" to the "Service Provider". Everyone loved the presentation, and said they had learned so much about what I do. I so needed that! I was really starting to doubt myself. I feel like I just turned the corner. I'm ready to start the 30 day wholesaling challenge and now I know exactly how to show and tell people about the solution I can offer!! FortuneBuilders ROCKS!!
